Corts loves Heavy Metal

When the guys in the Machine shop are better than some people that get paid to ride bikes, you have to be stoked. The corts brothers, also known as Team Major Air, are f-ing awesome. J. Pavia and his half fingered gloves sent this sequence to us, and it’s Big Corts at East Coast Terminal. Big Dave told John he had to pull it in 3 tries, or do the dishes all week. Kelly Baker won the super bowl, so congrats to him. There has been some chatter about our pic for the Vid comtest, and the winner, Tyler Bergstrom, Tyler called me this weekend, from Shads cell phone, at Goods in Portland, and he was stoked. Some People thought Tylers part wasn’t filmed good enough, or that he didn’t do enough tricks, I don’t give a shit, here’s a couple reasons we picked him, His buddies are laughing in the background while they filmed, he wrote FBM on his beer gut and ate shit with no shirt on, we never heard of him, he was riding a piece of shit bike, and it looked like him and his friends love BMX. Simple enough, it was just cool, filmed shitty, spots we’ve never seen, and it had Ted Nugent, and I hate Ted Nugent. Alot of the other entries were amazing, and the guys who sent in tapes, some of them were flat out badasses, and can probably all get sponsored. We gave Tyler a bike for his efforts, no big deal. Maybe we’ll do it again next summer. In other news, Rick Thorne called me this weekend, about our shittalking on the website. I might have taken some things Rick said, out of context, and been pissed at him, and I definitely let him have it a few times, but he might not be such a bad guy, we talked a bit, I still think he is strange, and way out there, but he is into BMX, and has been for a long time, so I guess he aint all bad. Who Knows, Its just bike riding anyhow, lets just have some fun.

John Corts has been welding and machining parts on the new Autopilot frames, here he is also riding one, doing some gaps in Bigglestown. Autopilots should be available to customers this week as they shuld start coming back from paint in a day or 2. Jeremy Pavia sent those 2 pics over. Word. Shanton Wilson is doing something on a ramp in this picture, he probably drove wrecklessly to hang out with strippers after this pic was shot, and then called Catfish up to hear him rap about playing dice, and drinking expensive liquor. Kelly Baker sent this pic of himself and his son benny riding together this week, his son is like 4, and can already jump higher than Dave King. Did you see Dave in that Red Bull Video? Strange. In other news, Aaron Ross is in Austin, and preparing for a cage match with Pierre from Empire, over a dispute concerning XTRASKN shin pads. Anothe rumor, Dunny possibly working with TNT bikes on a re-release of the Hwa Fong Daddy Frame? Duece In charge of Product development with Cyclecraft, and paying Brian Foster to hand paint FredzLegz Forks, and Handlebars? Bully re in troducing Welded on Bashguards? Nate wessal Hired by an internet firm to try and start Building Ramps out of Message Boards? Myspace Collaboration with Dane Wild, and Warner Brothers Music for a Skatepark Tour? Hmmm.

Congrats to Shawn Arata, and his wife, not only for the whole wedding thing, but surviving the reception. Party Dave was in full effect, he was almost naked at one point. Hilarious night, that ended with Bugsy pissing himself. Action shots available later this week. Another Congrats goes out to Ryan Corrigan,Kimler and Hallman for winning the Red Bull Backyard Buildoff, in Cincinatti, and also taking the 5 grand prize money. Holla. More Congrats than that, as Tony Cardona won the Pro class at the Westmont Comp this weekend, and Mike Corts won Best trick. It was Awesome, tony Mowed over about 20 other pro’s including newleywed Shawn Arata, for the victory. Arata would have placed better if he hadnt gotten married 20 hours earlier, and didnt land on his nuts from an 8 foot superman over the spine. He still Rock and rolled the party though. Its late, and I just got out of the Van after the drive home, more news Tomorrow…..

FBM Machine shop employee, John Corts, IS the Official FBM Ape of the Week. On sunday, He drove all the way to Long Island by himself to see WASP and Twisted Sister in concert. The trip was not out of his dedication and love for Metal, but to also take 20 bucks from Kerry, who bet him that he was too much of a chickenshit to drive all the way down there by himself. Corts was stoked to take the Big K’s cash, and said “Twisted Sister was amazing…”
Big Dave stayed home and chilled with Curtis, and has spent this week so far, working on making the FBM frames even better than they were before. He rode to work with Curtis in tow today, on his Big Bike. I’ll get some pics of that up soon.Albes Had a video premiere this past weekend, Peep there site for pics, it looked like they had a blast. Bob at Staff also had a showing that went well, and one of his buddies gave me a CD for his band Convict orange, randomly at a Flying J Truckstop in Pa. Keep posted for more news….
