First a gun in our ad and now superheroes!!! We're so controversial. Apparently someone higher up at Time Warner, who owns Ride magazine, saw our ads with the superheroes in them and told the guys at Ride that we had to "cease and desist" with using superheroes in our ads. Who would have thought? Not us. So get the last two Rides and save these ads, they might be collectors items someday. The idea for this ad came about because both Tony and John Corts are really into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so obviously we had to make an ad with a turtle in it. That's John Corts in black playing the part of a foot soldier. Inside the turtle costume is Jeremy Pavia from Syracuse. John said we had to have pizza in the ad as well, and the nunchucks we whipped up from an old shovel handle. The tv serves two purposes, it is being stolen by the foot soldier, and it holds the token riding photo. This is a bmx company after all. I didn't think about it when we made the ad, but afterwards I realized that we snuck a gun graphic in there too. We're outlaws for sure |
