When we were making this ad it didn't occur to any of us that there might be a problem using a picture of Phil holding a gun. We just thought it was a funny picture. I mean it's not as though he was depicted shooting people or cute little furry animals or anything like that. Turns out that doesn't matter. Apparently Ride can not publish any photos of firearms. O.K. lesson learned.

As we were already late with the ad, we didn't have time to do a new one, so we threw a censor bar over the gun and ran with it. Thing is it sort of made the ad funnier because it now looked as though Phil was hiding a great big schlong.

Phil sent us the photo which is actually from a skeet shooting adventure that he went on with a few of his buddies. So that 's the story. If you ever want to advertise in Ride, don't put a gun in the ad.
