Ad to announce Shawn Arata's new pro model frame the Capone. The frame is named the Capone because Shawn wanted a name that in some way represented his home town of Chicago. Not sure who came up with the idea to reference Al Capone, but it was a good idea, and a much better idea than any of us had come up with. Hence you have the Chicago skyline across the bottom of the page and the name "CAPONE" in Chicago type. A nod from a modern day Chicago bad ass to possibly the biggest bad ass in Chicago history. The riding photo is from the Ghetto Street Comp - Shawn roasting the ratchety extension that Derrick Girard and Brian Yeagle dialed into the ghetto bowl. That's Brian right next to the extension and Derrick is on the guy standing up on the far deck, both keeping tabs on their creation. Crandall was especially psyched on this ad because we managed to sneak a few curse words into Ride Magazine. |
